Bike Check-In
There is mandatory bike check-in on Saturday, June 12, from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the transition in Raccoon River Park. You must attend a race briefing and pick up your race packet before checking your bike into the transition area. Your BIKE NUMBER must be properly affixed to your bike before racking your bike in transition. This will ensure race officials that you have attended a race briefing and received your race packet. If you're not able to check in your own bike on Saturday, you are allowed to have someone else check it in for you provided your bike has a bike number on it.
Wristbands
All athletes will receive a wristband at packet pick-up. The wristband must be worn until you remove your bike from the transition area after the race. There will be race staff and volunteers at the transition area to match your bicycle with your wristband upon exiting the transition area. You must remove your own bike from the transition area.

Admission for minors is at the discretion of race director, Bill Burke.
Race Age
"Race Age" - Race age for this event is the athlete's age on 12/31/2010. For example, the event is held on 6/12/2010. Tyler's birthday is 11/9/1998, so he is 11 years-old the day of the race, but he will be 12 on 12/31/2010. Therefore he will compete in the 12 year-old age group, as that is his race age.
Race Age was conceived by USATriathlon, the governing body of this sport, in order to standardize the age group system or ranking triathletes. In the past, some triathletes would race in one age group at the beginning of the season, then would age up on their birthday to a different age group thereby making it difficult to rank triathletes in their particular age group at the end of the year.
